Muhammad Sulaiman Sadiq (Kadhib)

Many people have heard of the "Nigerian Prince Scam", but what many people have not heard of is the "Fake Mufti Scam", which has recently been exposed in the Centerville/Washington Township, Ohio area and is still ongoing and has already resulted in the loss of over $1,000,000.00 and has personally and emotionally affected the lives of many within the Miami Valley and beyond.

Muhammad Sulaiman Sadiq came to the Centerville/Washington Township, Ohio region in 2017. A building was purchased at 10501 Success Ln, Washington Township, OH 45458 from funds collected from the local community for the purpose of establishing a Masjid and an Islamic School. The purchase price was around $1,500,000.00.

Around 2016 Muhammad Sadiq moved to Fairborn (Ohio), where he brought some religious students from Indiana and started an Islamic School in the local Masjid. He claimed to move to our area after the Masjid and Islamic School, that he established in Indiana, was taken over by the Board Members. We now know that he was chased away from there, due to his dishonesty, deceptions and lies.

Going back to 2017 when the property was purchased for the Masjid and Islamic School. It was discovered after, that due to zoning, there are not allowed any places of worship such as Churches, Masjids, Synagogues or Temples in that area of Washington Township, so the new Masjid started under licensing as a Social Club, not as a Masjid. It is believed that to this day no occupancy permit has been obtained for ICC.

With the opening of the new Masjid, Islamic School and even many new students from different parts of the country, Muhammad Sadiq became popular. All the time the community was under the impression that he was a Mufti or Religious Authority, which he presented himself as. It was not until much later, that the community realized he is a fake Mufti. He did not receive the required education to be a Mufti.

Within the first year Muhammad Sadiq was enjoying popularity and receiving huge financial donations to the nonprofit Islamic Center of Centerville, which the new center was named. While on the outside everything was looking good, within the first year of opening the Masjid, he took out a secret mortgage on the Masjid and then he took out a 2nd secret mortgage on the Masjid later. A total of 2 mortgages on a Masjid, that were fully paid for by the community.

Early on there were many "Red Flags", that the Muslim community missed. Muhammad Sadiq refused to apply for any permits for work and construction being done at ICC, which later resulted in the Fire Dept ordering walls and rooms removed. Even the main prayer area was done without permits, where multiple rooms were removed.

A lot of the popularity of ICC came from the Islamic students and the new Islamic teachers from other states. Within the 2nd year after opening ICC, the community financially supported the construction of a new gym next to the Masjid. The community also discovered later that Muhammad Sadiq has also taken 2 additional secret mortgages out on the gym, which was paid for by the community. This is a total of 4 secret interest-based mortgages taken out on the Masjid and Gym, which were fully paid for by the community. The president of ICC from its inception was a long time local Ahmadiyya Doctor, who was the cosigner with Muhammad Sadiq.

Where did the money go? No one knows except Muhammad Sadiq, as he refuses to turn over any accounting, to the then acting Board Members or the community. Muhammad Sadiq did attempt to turn over a clean account, while refusing to turn over details for the other accounts that existed. The President claims to have no access to the accounts or where the money went. There has been no treasurer for the Islamic Center of Centerville (ICC). Muhammad Sadiq has had full control of all finances, with no oversight or accountability from 2017-2024. While ICC is a financial wreck today, Muhammad Sadiq has been doing well financially in his private life, buying and selling real estate and opening a supermarket on a $60,000.00 a year salary.

In 2022 Muhammad Sadiq convinced a local Doctor to purchase an old school building in Franklin (Ohio), for the use of a Masjid and boarding for the out of state students and some teachers. The building was previously listed as having asbestos inside. Muhammad Sadiq did not obtain any occupancy permit or licensing and was shut down immediately. The building has been closed and listed for sale since 2022, but ICC updated website says: "Recently (Est. 2022), we also established a branch of ICC, Islamic Center of Franklin (ICF), located just 11 minutes from ICC location. ICF primarily serves as the dormitory for our full-time Alim students with a Musella facility and cafeteria. Local Muslims in the area can congregate for daily Fajr and Isha Salah at ICF. Two of the Falah Seminary teachers also reside at the ICF dormitory with the students, thereby providing onsite supervision and ongoing good tarbiyah."

At one point there were around 50 students, and houses would be purchased in affluent neighborhoods to house the students, until complaints from neighbors and then the property would be sold and another purchased. Eventually the students ended up sleeping in ICC scattered around, sleeping on mattresses.

Muhammad Sadiq would funnel money from ICC to his grocery store, where he bought all the food to feed the students. He was charging triple the price for meats compared to other local halal meat stores. The actual total amount transferred to his market from ICC is unknown, as he is the only one with access to ICC account info and at same time, he is the owner of the market. This is a clear conflict of interest for a nonprofit organization.

Anyone who is familiar with a Masjid, knows that there are a lot of cash donations. From 2017 to 2024 there is no cash trail for ICC. All cash donations are unknown and missing. Muhammad Sadiq has not been known to do any payouts or transactions related to ICC, except for accepting the cash. The money that he collects from traveling around on his solo fund raisers for ICC is unknown to anyone. No financial accountability from 2017-2024, except in the beginning, there was one person doing financial record keeping, but was fired right before Muhammad Sadiq took out the first mortgage, we know now.

The list of unpaid employees from ICC and his market is long. it started with teachers and other employees, not getting paid for several months, until one of the local Doctors or Businessmen would step in and pay the salaries. Eventually employees were going 6 to 8 months without being paid and those who eventually quit, were not paid. All the while Muhammad Sadiq was collecting, fees from students, donations, charity, etc. There was more than enough money coming into ICC to pay all salaries, but the money would vanish, and people were and are not being paid their salaries. Those who were paid in the last year or two have never received a w-2, even though they were given pay stubs. Muhammad Sadiq told people he had someone in Pakistan doing the accounting previously.

Muhammad Sadiq was claiming ICC was financially broke. This includes the $100,000.00 collected from the community to remodel the bathroom area, which was never started. Muhammad Sadiq regularly travels to different states trying to collect money from other communities. As stated earlier, there is no accountability for the funds that he collects.

Around mid 2024 local Muslims in and around the Centerville/Washington Township area started to get questioned by the F.B.I. about Muhammad Sadiq, his beliefs, teachings, ICC, etc... This seems to be an active and ongoing investigation, as up until recently community members are still being interviewed and the questions are not related to finances, but related to Muhammad Sadiq's beliefs, teachings, ICC and what he preaches about.

Today all the Islamic teachers are gone from ICC, many with 6+ months in pay owed. The Rawdah Academy school that is being run out of the same location for younger children, has a long list of unpaid former employees. All the teachers were women, with children and 6+ months unpaid.  It is a common story told by the former women employees, that Muhammad Sadiq would encourage them to continue working for the children and God and empty promises of being paid soon. They all quit eventually and Muhammad Sadiq would hire new teachers and the cycle of unpaid teachers quitting continued. All the while, he was collecting the monthly school fees from the parents of the children attending the school.

Muhammad Sadiq has taken several personal loans from individuals in the community, that have not been repaid.

We are currently seeking a pro bono local attorney or local rights group to help all the unpaid employees receive their wages that are estimated at $100,000.00+

Over a 6 year period millions of dollars have been collected by Muhammad Sadiq on behalf of Islamic Center of Centerville and there has been no accounting or accountability. The nonprofit is being run  like a  private business by one man and he has earned the reputation of lying and deceiving within the Washington Township/Centerville Ohio region. Muhammad Sadiq has recently created a new board on his own, which consists of only 2 members, a local Doctor and local Businessman. Muhammad Sadiq has structured the nonprofit in a way that he has full control, with no oversight or responsibility. The community has lost trust in him. The President of ICC resigned in face of all the ongoing controversies surrounding Muhammad Sadiq and his refusal to cooperate with him, the Board Members and the Community. The President was a long time Centerville resident and a retired Doctor, who was acting president of ICC since its inception. Many believe he has been deceived over the years, as he allowed Muhammad Sadiq full responsibility over the finances, with no oversight.

We have discovered the above online copy of a letter related to Islamic Center of Centerville.

Washington Township Board of Zoning Appeals Meeting Agenda Monday, September 23, 2024, 6:00 PM The public hearing will be held in the Blair Meeting Room of the Washington Township Government Center, 8200 McEwen Road, Washington Township, Ohio. 1. Pledge of Allegiance 2. Attendance/Excuse Absent Board Members 3. Approval of Meeting Minutes 4. New Business. a) BZA-24-19: Dustin Hurley Use Variance request to operate a “church” or religious facility within a light industrial district where the principal permitted use is a “service club.” A “church” use is not a principally or conditionally permitted use in the light industrial district. The proposed “church” request includes the operation of a school ancillary to the religious institution with both religious and non-religious characteristics.

CASE PACKET:

In Muhammad Sadiq's Letter of Intent for variance, it states-

"This building is not a mosque."

"ICC does have a religious element.."

"..the center is owned by a non-profit that is governed by the members of the religious organization.

"The prayer room is not a mosque. While this occupies a significant portion of the square footage of the first floor of the building, this room is empty at most times."

"Room Labeled Classrooms These rooms are used for the study of Islam, the Quran, Islamic Law, and the Arabic language. Classes are primarily attended by members of the religious organization, similar to bible studies or Sunday school. Classes are scheduled ad hoc. Classes are held during the week and on weekends. The frequency of classes increases during the summer months. There is no formal curriculum, course of study, or degrees offered by ICC, as you might see with a university. These classrooms would not be considered part of any type of university or school."

Again a reflection of his dishonesty.

Zoning Appeal Application states very clearly:

"A use variance cannot be granted as a result of a hardship which was self created."

Application for variance to have ICC as a Mosque denied by Washington Township.

"Muhammad Sadiq's biography as he has written it on ICC website says:

Mufti Muhammad Suleman Sadiq is the Director and Vice President of Islamic Center of Centerville (ICC), and the Principal of Jamia Falah ul Darain, est. 2017.

Born in Washington, DC and raised in Pakistan, Mufti Suleman completed his academic studies and then began his pursuit of studying the sacred sciences at Jamia Al Hasanain in Faisalabad, Pakistan. He had the honor to complete the 8-year Alamiyyah program under the direct tutelage of renowned scholars, Maulana Tariq Jamil and Shaykh Ramzi Al Habib, amongst others.

After his graduation, he dedicated a year in the path of Allah, as part of his formal Islamic training, and then enrolled in the prestigious Jamia Binoria in Karachi, Pakistan, to complete his specialization (Takhasus) in Ahadith under the instruction and care of Shaykh Abdul Hameed Chishti.

He attained distinction of merit in his class with the extraordinary accomplishment of memorizing the entire Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Riyadus Saliheen, and Muntakhab Ahadith. By the Grace of Allah, Mufti Suleman also memorized the entire Quran in one month in Ramadan during his Alamiyyah program.

In 2012, he returned back to the United States, to bring the fruits of his experiences and learning in North America, and served as an imam in Louisville, Kentucky. However, seeing the greater needs of the American Muslim community to have access to sacred knowledge, Mufti Suleman established a branch of Jamia Al-Hasanain in Indianapolis under the guidance of his teachers. He directed and guided its vision and mission for 4 years, conducting classes of sacred knowledge, before moving to Ohio and co-founding Jamia Osmania along with Shaykh Aiyub Hansbhai (رحمه الله).

In 2019, Mufti Suleman Sadiq cofounded and established the Islamic Center of Centerville, serving as scholar, teacher, mentor and leader to the community of Centerville and beyond. ICC places particular emphasis on catering for the educational activities of all age groups, facilitating Alimiyyah programs for brothers and sisters, study circles, community programs and an Islamic school. Mufti Suleman has been committed to supervise and lead all of the educational and social initiatives and continues to further his own journey of sacred knowledge by completing his specialization in Islamic Jurisprudence. His presence is a blessing and a source of pride for the Centerville Muslim community. May Allah preserve and increase his good works and reward him generously for all that he does for the community. Ameen

According to his own biography he, paints himself as such a learned religious man. Like a Saint. He claims to have memorized the whole Qur'an in just one month in Ramadhan. When people read this from him, they think he must be blessed to have memorized one juz or part of the Qur'an per day in Ramadhan. Yet how many people have prayed behind him for a full month in Ramadhan, to hear such a blessed individual? In Centerville OH. we have not and he would very rarely lead prayers. The average person spends 2 years in an academic setting for Qur'an memorization, while his claim is 29/30 days for himself. With taking into consideration his self given title of Mufti, his dealings with people since returning to the U.S., his misappropriation of Masjid funds, his growing list of unpaid employees from Masjid, Falah Seminary, Rawdah Academy and Madni Mart, etc., etc... It can be assumed that he is not a Hafiz Qur'an as he is well known to be untruthful. Let Muhammad Sadiq produce an Ijaza (Certificate) or even lead prayer for Ramadhan, as a challenge to him. He also basically claims to be a Muhaddith or a person who has memorized a vast amount of Hadith, with the chains of transmitters. such a supposed great and precise memory and he cannot even keep the financial accounts of the Masjid in order and he is refusing to the end, to allow a professional independent auditor to perform an audit or allow even a single individual access to accounts used and related to ICC since its inception in 2017. Why else would someone have such "Fear" to allow what's "Fair", if they are an honest person? Fraud and deception! it is especially bold of him to add:

"His presence is a blessing and a source of pride for the Centerville Muslim community. May Allah preserve and increase his good works and reward him generously for all that he does for the community. Ameen

We all know this is not true and we know what generous rewards he is referring to."
